Summary

As our IT Production Technician, your primary responsibility will be to keep all production networks maintained and functional throughout the Performing Arts Center. You will coordinate with our Production Managers and clients to ensure all production networks function correctly. Additionally, you will be working backstage in our event spaces assisting clients, technical directors, and crew to ensure every event is a success.

On a typical day, you may do the following:

Networks

  • Collaborate with ACPA IT Manager as needed for support.

  • Identify and map physical network routing.

  • Repair and maintain network cables.

  • Update network equipment to current specifications.

  • Troubleshoot network issues with production staff or clients.

  • Upgrade existing networks to future use specifications.

Backstage

  • Promote safety awareness and enforce safety protocols.

  • Observe the IATSE crew for possible qualifications and check off opportunities.

  • Assist Technical Directors, Stage Managers, or IATSE crews in accessing ACPA equipment.

  • Assist Technical Directors, Stage Managers, or IATSE crews with ACPA-specific operations. Example: Motor Controls or the Atwood pit lift.

Other Duties

  • Maintain and repair production equipment and systems.

  • Clean, paint, and organize all production spaces.

To thrive in this position, you should have a solid personal work ethic, exceptional customer service, communication and organizational skills, a clear understanding of IT/Network, theatrical systems, and workplace safety with the confidence to enforce compliance, a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, and love providing clients and patrons with extraordinary experiences.

Our schedule varies according to the events currently in the PAC and differs week to week. Our operating hours range from 8 am to midnight typically, and sometimes beyond. Our regular shift is 8 hours.
