Summary

This position provides production services throughout Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, assisting all members of the Production team.

1. Assists Production Team During Events

  • Assist during load in, run, and load out of assigned events.

  • Supervise IATSE Union crews as needed.

  • Counsel users in proper operation of production equipment.

  •  Monitor safety policies and procedures.

  • Interact with clients as needed.

2. Maintains and Repairs Production Spaces and Equipment

  • Assist with various repairs, maintenance, and cleaning, including but not limited to: Stages, Backstage Areas, Pits, Trap Rooms, Tech Rooms and Booths, Projection Booths, Catwalks, Storage Areas, Production Equipment and Systems.

  • Observes safe work practices and monitors safety practices of user groups, including staff, clients, and hired labor.

  • Assist Production Mangers on assigned projects.

3. Operate Production Systems as Required

  • Including, but not limited to: Lighting, Audio, Video, and Projection.

4. Performs Other Duties as Required

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED desired.

  • 2 years of previous experience in production desired.

  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions from supervisor and others. Ability to speak basic English.

  • Ability to read and understand equipment operating instructions.

  • Ability to operate hand and small power tools.

  • Ability to observe safe working habits and to report unsafe conditions observed. Ability to change work hours on short notice.

  • Ability to show initiative and recognize tasks needing to be accomplished.

Physical Demands of Position

  • Stand, sit, walk.

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and climb.

  • Lift or move 25 lbs.; move 50 lbs.; occasionally move 100 lbs.

Work Environment

Exposure to fumes of cleaning materials. May have skin contact with cleaning products. Work may require exposure to heat, dust, wet, and cold. Works near machinery, occasionally works in high places. Noise exposure level can be moderate to high.
