Summary

This position is primarily for snow removal and grounds keeping around the building during the winter months under supervision and direction of the Facility Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties (including but not limited to)

1.  Snow and Ice Removal

  • Work with the facility manager to review upcoming weather and prepare a plan if there will be ice/snow that may need to be removed from around the building.

  • On-call when snow is predicted, especially when performances are scheduled, as directed by the facility manager.

2. Other Special Projects as Needed

  • May be asked to work on special projects in the building as scheduled by the facility manager. 

3. Performs Other Duties as Required

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED desired.

  • 2 years of previous experience desired.

  • Reliable source of communication.

  • Reliable source of transportation.

  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions from supervisor and others. 

  • Ability to speak basic English.

  • Ability to read and understand equipment operating instructions.

  • Ability to operate hand and small power tools.

  • Ability to observe safe working habits and to report unsafe conditions observed.

  • Ability to change work hours on short notice.

  • Ability to show initiative and recognize tasks needing to be accomplished.

Physical Demands of Position

  • Stand, sit, walk.

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and climb.

  • Lift or move 25 lbs; move 50 lbs; occasionally move 100 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Work may require exposure to heat, dust, wet, cold and biological matter. Works near machinery.  Work assigned outside in inclement weather.  Noise level is usually moderate.
