Resident Company Highlight - Anchorage Concert Chorus

Since 1947 Anchorage Concert Chorus has been bringing stunning choral music to not only Anchorage and Alaska, but the rest of the world as well. They also have a unique connection to the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, they were founded by Lorene Harrison, whose name is familiar to those who have been to shows in the Atwood Theatre. Her name graces the lobby on that side of the theater, honoring her years of dedication to the Anchorage arts community. 

The Anchorage Concert Chorus is a holiday mainstay in Anchorage. Performing Holiday Pops at the PAC. Since 1947 the organization has performed Handel’s Messiah every year at different venues throughout Anchorage.  However, they are not just a holiday group. They are passionate about bringing choral music to communities that may not have access to choral music. They also offer scholarships and lessons to young people who are interested in continuing their artistic careers.
