Summary

As our Cleaning Technician, you will help the Facility Team in creating a clean and presentable environment for our Staff, Patrons, and Clients that occupy the building daily.

Every day you will coordinate with the Lead Custodian to prioritize and accomplish cleaning tasks in and around the building, such as lobby spaces, bathroom, offices, and theatre spaces. As part of the Team, you will also work as on-site custodian during events as needed.

To thrive in this role, you must have great attention to detail, basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and tools, be able to observe safe working habits and report unsafe ones. You must work well independently or in a team setting and have a positive attitude.

Hours per week will vary depending on event schedules, as our primary event season is September to May. Typical shifts are 8 hours working no later than 10pm and require weekend availability. This position does not have regular work hours, and you may be scheduled to work outside the hours public transportation is running.

Duties

  • Cleans Atwood, Discovery and Laurence Theaters and lobbies. 

  • Removes trash, vacuums or mops floor surfaces; dusts or washes other surfaces as required.  

  • Vacuums and dusts in lobbies and concession areas.  Washes surfaces as needed.  

  • Cleans restroom fixtures.  Mops floor surfaces, washes wall surfaces.  Cleans mirrors.  Replenishes supplies.  

  • Cleans administrative offices and donor lounge.  

  • Removes trash, dusts furniture and equipment, vacuums floor surfaces.  Washes, dusts or polishes surfaces.  

  • Cleans dressing rooms, backstage, basement areas and stairwells.  

  • Cleans dressing rooms, restrooms and showers.  

  • Cleans mirrors; washes other surfaces as needed.  

  • Vacuums, mops or sweeps backstage, stairways, halls and elevators.  

  • Cleans glass surfaces.  

  • Cleans inside and outside of windows and doors.  

  • Cleans other glass surfaces in lobbies and offices.  

  • Performs periodically  

  • Buffs tile areas in lobbies.  

  • Cleans lighting fixtures and replaces lights.  

  • Shovels snow. 

  • Moves equipment and supplies between departments.  

  • Assists with setting up tables and chairs in lobby or theater.  

  • Cleans equipment as directed.  

  • Performs other duties as required.
